Dearborn, Michigan Network Engineer

 

The Network Engineer, or Network Systems Engineer, is responsible for creating IT networks for the organization. Duties include using their IT knowledge to develop company networks, coordinating with company leadership to identify network needs, and helping employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.

 

Qualifications:

  • Eight years of enterprise experience with enterprise network design with Cisco equipment in a LAN/WAN environment with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls supported by DSL, SD-WAN and MPLS network topologies  
  • Experience with networking configurations in the Azure Cloud to include NSGs and UDRs 
  • Seven years of experience in WAN and LAN topologies and security concerns regarding DMZ implementation  
  • Network troubleshooting experience to include packet trace and Sniffer analysis as well as switch configuration analysis   
  • Experience with TCP/IP networks from Layer 2 through Layer 7, from IP addressing and naming (DHCP, DNS, WINS, subnetting, VLAN) through security, along with related software tools for monitoring and management   
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical diagnostic skills with the ability to clearly isolate and define problems 
  • Enterprise level experience with cloud based routing and configuration in Azure  
  • Understanding and familiarity with firewalls and firewall configuration; understanding and familiarity with IPS devices and policy implementation  
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet standards (100BaseT, Gigabit Ethernet) and structure cabling standards (TIA/EIA, Cat6, patch panels)  
  • MPLS familiarization including quality of service (QOS) configuration  
  • Experience with design, configuration, and support of reverse proxies  
  • Security experience as it applies to compliance, protection of assets, and company security
