Position: Powerschool Student Information Systems (SIS) Administrator
Type: Hybrid (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000

Overview: The Student Information System (SIS) team specializes in providing comprehensive support to districts and schools utilizing the Student Information System (PowerSchool). We ensure data integrity, compliance with federal and South Carolina Department of Education regulations, and training for administrators and educators. Our goal is to empower educators to focus on their students and educational objectives. While headquartered in Charleston, SC, Cantey Tech operates remotely across the United States. This role is based in downtown Columbia, SC, serving a non-traditional school district catering to charter schools.
Summary: Cantey Tech is in search of a Student Information Systems (SIS) Administrator who aspires to specialize in data engineering and enjoys collaborating with educators across different levels. This role involves addressing queries, providing training, and managing data to ensure accurate reporting and funding allocation for schools, predominantly within South Carolina. A successful candidate is a self-starter capable of independent decision-making, backed by a supportive team of six experts. - Manage student enrollment and withdrawal processes.
- Facilitate ongoing enrollment of new students.
- Enter and maintain essential student and demographic information.
- Process historical grades of incoming students.
- Maintain historical grades of departing students.
- Assist in data compilation, analysis, and preparation of statistical reports.
- Ensure accurate entry of South Carolina PowerSchool fields.
- Establish and manage student schedules.
- Collaborate with schools to input disciplinary and truancy data.
- Generate and potentially develop new reports.
- Verify accuracy of enrollment Average Daily Membership (ADM) in PowerSchool.
- Minimum of two years as a system administrator for PowerSchool within the South Carolina Department of Education or a school district.
- Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL) – ability to read and troubleshoot.
