Job Title: Senior Help Desk Administrator

Department: IT

Reports To: IT Director


The Senior Help Desk Administrator is responsible for providing technical support to users of a medium-sized local government IT infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software problems, configuring and maintaining systems, and providing training to users. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of IT technologies, including Windows, Active Directory, SCCM, virtualization, and Microsoft products. They will also be trainable, eager to learn new technologies, and focused on continuous growth.


  • Provide first-level support to users of the IT infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
  • Configure and maintain systems
  • Provide training to users
  • Document IT processes and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest IT technologies
  • Escalate complex issues to the next level of support


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field OR equivalent experience + Associates Degree
  • 3-5+ years of experience in IT support
  • Experience with a variety of IT technologies, including Windows, Active Directory, SCCM, virtualization, and Microsoft products
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Desire to continuously grow and develop


  • A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications are a plus
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certifications are a plus
