Responsibilities:
-Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients’ orthotic and prosthetic needs.
-Engage in detailed consultations to understand patients’ lifestyles, preferences, and goals.
Orthotic and Prosthetic Design and Fabrication:
-Design, fabricate, and fit orthotic and prosthetic devices tailored to individual patient requirements.
-Utilize advanced materials and technology to ensure the highest quality and functionality of devices.
-Perform fittings and make necessary adjustments to optimize the fit, comfort, and functionality of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
-Collaborate closely with patients to address concerns and provide ongoing support throughout the fitting process.
-Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment notes, device specifications, and follow-up documentation.
-Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance standards to ensure adherence.
-Work collaboratively with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
-Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to contribute insights and enhance patient treatment plans.
-Stay informed about advancements in orthotics and prosthetics through continuous education and training.
-Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
-Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
-Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to improve overall patient outcomes.
-Educate patients and their families on the proper use and maintenance of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
-Guide adaptive strategies and lifestyle modifications to promote patient independence.
Qualifications:
-Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist (CO/CPO) certification from a recognized accrediting body.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
